13th Feb 201018:00MusicPiano and Violin ConcertThis is a recital by two wonderful Israeli musicians: Emanuel Krasovsky (piano) and Vera Vaidman (violin). In addition to Schubert, Tchaikovsky and Beethoven, they
will play Delius's first sonata. I believe this will be the first performance of the full score in England.

Professor Krasovsky is in London to give master classes at the Royal Academy.

There will be drinks from 5.30p.m. in the Ante Chapel (Chapel). Poster.

"The tangent bundle to the n-dimensional sphere is the set of all pairs (x,v), where x is a point in the sphere, and v is a vector in R^{n+1} tangent to x at p. I'll discuss the geometry and topology of this space and of a more general class of spaces known as vector bundles on spheres."

24th Jan 201018:30Societies"Introducing Innovation into Clinical Cancer Care" by Dr James MackayDr Mackay studied at Trinity before completing his clinical training at the University of Edinburgh Medical School. He is the only accredited Consultant Clinical Genetic Oncologist with a special interest in cancer genetics in the UK and is an honorary senior lecturer at UCL. Dr Mackay established regional cancer genetics services in East Anglia and North East Thames and developed the first regular remote cancer genetic service in the world. He has taken the lead in setting up several major clinical trials including the Genetic Breast Cancer Trial, which is the first randomised trial of chemotherapy based on inherited genetic make-up in the world (Winstanley Lecture Theatre).
