The University of Cambridge comprises 29 undergraduate colleges, each with its individual character and history. Before you can study here, you must be offered a place by one of the colleges. It is well worth spending time to find out as much detail as possible about any college that interests you before submitting your application.

Trinity is the largest college in Cambridge: home to between 650 and 700 undergraduates, around 350 graduate students and about 170 Fellows, the College's senior members.

The size of the College is one of its key strengths. It creates a diverse membership, drawing students from a wide range of backgrounds and with a broad spectrum of interests. Applicants come in large numbers from both state and independent schools, as well as from overseas. In fact the proportion of students from abroad is higher than the average for Cambridge as a whole.

Undergraduate courses at Cambridge are intellectually demanding and require considerable commitment on the part of those who are admitted. However, Trinity is open to everyone with the ability and determination to succeed.

These pages are intended to provide you with all the information you will need before making an application to Trinity. You can find out how to apply; what the key dates are in the application process; when the Open Days are and how to book a place on one; and why we interview candidates and what the interviews are like.

You can also find out detailed information about the different subjects you can read at Trinity; what is involved financially in being an undergraduate at Trinity (our resources allow us to offer a wide variety of financial support); and read a glossary of terms specific to Cambridge that you may not be familiar with.

Finally, there is a set of Frequently Asked Questions about undergraduate admissions to Trinity.

Once you have read all this, you may want to have a look at the further information about Trinity that is available.

For those interested in Choral, Organ or Instrumental Awards, these are administered separately and details are available on the University website:
