Trinity College Masterclasses
Trinity College will be hosting two year long Master-Class Programmes, beginning in November 2020. These events will be online.
- The Easy As Pi – Women in Maths Masterclass Programme will be open to Year 11 female & non-binary students studying Mathematics, predicted grade 7-9 in Science & Maths GCSE. Find out more & apply up here.
- The Love Languages Programme will be open to Year 11 students with a predicted grade 7-9 GCSE in a language. Find out more and apply here.
ClickCambridge is a new online programme for 2020/21, which aims to equip students with the information and skills needed to apply to selective universities. The deadline is 9am on Monday 19th October – sign up here but you may want to find out more via the ClickCambridge site first. Trinity are directly involved in the delivery of the Year 10 programme for Black/mixed Black students.
Events Organised by Partner Organisations
Target Oxbridge is a free programme that aims to help Black African and Caribbean students and students of mixed race with Black African and Caribbean heritage increase their chances of getting into the Universities of Oxford or Cambridge. The programme is open to UK-based students in Year 12 (as well as, in certain circumstances Year 13). Find out more here, and apply here before the deadline: Sunday 1st November 2020, 23:59.
Cambridge University Students’ Union
The Shadowing Scheme is a free, online mentoring programme for state-educated UK students in Year 12 or equivalent. Usually, this is a residential programme, but this year will be held throughout January and February 2021, with the opportunity to meet current students, access Admissions Webinars, and receive 1-1 support from a mentor (all online!). Magdalene College Lectures
BME Students in STEM – this series of online lectures, hosted by Magdalene College in collaboration with Target Oxbridge, aims to engage year 10-13 students from Black and Minority Ethnic backgrounds. The next event is on the 26th October 2020 – find out more here, and register here.
Fitzwilliam College BME Taster Programme
Fitzwilliam’s Taster Programme will run in November- December 2020, and is an opportunity for students from ethnic minority backgrounds to develop study skills, learn about new university subjects, and get an insight as to what studying at the University of Cambridge is really like. It is open to Year 11s who are from ethnic minority backgrounds at UK state schools. See the timetable here and apply here by 4pm on 21 October.
Downing College Taster Webinar
Downing College’s Taster Webinar aims to introduce Year 10 and 11 (or equivalent) UK students to the University of Cambridge, and will explore options for further study. Register here before the event on the 21 October (3.30-5pm).
