If your son or daughter is thinking about applying to Cambridge, there are lots of ways you can help support them in their decision-making process, and during the application period. Lots of advice and information for parents is available in this useful leaflet for parents and supporters, and on the University webpages.
Cambridge’s application process, along with Oxford’s, is slightly different to that of other universities in the UK. As well as an earlier UCAS application date (October 15), Cambridge also routinely interviews around 90% of applicants. The application section on the University’s official website is likely to be your most helpful resource in understanding the process.
If you are worried about student finance and the costs of studying in Cambridge, it is worth checking out the University’s pages on student finance. Studying at Cambridge is not actually any more expensive than studying anywhere else, and the University provides an extremely generous bursary scheme.
