Applications are now open for the inaugural Trinity Stonehouse Residential!
In collaboration with Villiers Park, and thanks to generous support from the Stonehouse Foundation, Trinity College Cambridge are launching their first ever residential targeting Year 11 students. The residential, which will run from Sunday 12th – Wednesday 15th August is aimed at students currently in Year 11 with the academic potential to apply to top universities like Cambridge, but who may need additional guidance or support.
Attendees will stay in Trinity College first year accommodation and attend classes taught by University of Cambridge academics, and get the chance to visit the city’s fantastic museums and academic departments. They will receive bespoke guidance on A level subject selection, applications and admissions to top universities like Cambridge, as well as being mentored by current Trinity College students. Each attendee will also work on a project as part of the residential, specifically designed to develop key skills and build academic confidence going forward into sixth form study.
The residential is entirely free, including accommodation and all food, and we will also provide funds to cover the costs of travel to and from Cambridge. Students must currently be in Year 11 (Year 12 in Northern Ireland or S5 in Scotland) at a UK state school, and must be 16 years old by 12th August 2018. Students will be selected using a combination of academic and widening participation criteria, including GCSE predictions and a teacher reference. We particularly welcome applications from students with no parental history of higher education, those who have been eligible for free school meals in the past six years, and those who have been in the care of a local authority.
