What we Offer

What we offer

Trinity employ two Schools Liaison Officers to work with school students in order to increase their aspirations of going on to Higher Education. This includes coordinating visits to Cambridge, attending UCAS fairs and HE conferences, running residential events at Trinity for Year 12 students and visiting schools and colleges. The Schools Liaison Officers can offer presentations and workshops on suitable post-16 subject choices, universities in general, an introduction to Cambridge and Oxford, and detailed Cambridge application guidance, including interactive workshops on personal statements and interviews. Although we hope to encourage talented students from all backgrounds to apply to Trinity, we also simply seek to raise aspirations and encourage school students to aim high and make informed decisions when it comes to Higher Education.

“In order to maintain Trinity’s fine academic tradition, we need constantly to explore new sources of untapped potential. We are committed to admitting the most promising students, and are therefore eager to attract the widest possible field of outstanding applicants.”

~ Lord Rees, Former Master of Trinity College

Trinity’s Links with Hampshire, the Isle of Wight and Milton Keynes

Trinity admits students from all over the UK and internationally: we are one of the most cosmopolitan and diverse colleges in Cambridge. Under the University’s Area Links scheme, Trinity has particular responsibility for Schools Liaison activities in Milton Keynes, Hampshire and the Isle of Wight. State schools and colleges in these areas will receive regular Access Bulletins from the Schools Liaison Officers, containing information about events and resources for students and teachers.

The Schools Liaison Officers is always happy to arrange visits to schools and colleges in our Link Areas and across the country in order to speak to students and run workshops. We also welcome school groups to Cambridge throughout the year. Please see the Activities for Schools page for an overview of the activities which we can offer. Although priority for visits will be given to our Link Areas of Milton Keynes, Hampshire and the Isle of Wight, and you may initially wish to contact the College which is linked with your own area of the UK, the Area Links scheme is not intended to be prescriptive and we welcome enquiries from teachers and prospective students from all over the UK, and beyond.

You can get in touch with us by emailing the Schools Liaison Officers, Terri-Leigh and Caitlin at schools.liaison@trin.cam.ac.uk, or Seb for a student’s perspective at access@tcsu.net – we look forward to hearing from you.
