Sixty alumni and guests gathered on Wednesday 19 October for a sumptuous banquet hosted by the Master, Sir Gregory Winter (1970) with guest of honour, Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong (1971). Also in attendance was Dr Michael Banner (2006e) Dean of Chapel and Chair of Alumni Relations and Development, and Declan Hamilton, Alumni Relations Manager.
The Master welcomed guests and reminded the Prime Minister of his outstanding achievements as a student at Trinity. As the meal progressed, both Master and Prime Minister moved from table to table, giving all guests an opportunity to converse and be photographed. From the laughter and buzz emanating from each table, the discussions were clearly lively and varied. Long after the PM left the conversations were still going strong as alumni mingled between tables. Some had come from as far afield as Nepal, while another had dropped in en route from Hong Kong to Sydney.
From the comments made by those who attended, there is clearly an appetite for more alumni events in Singapore which we hope to organise in the future.
