Connecting to the College Network (TC-WLAN)

Wired College Network Connection (Students and Fellows)

To connect to the network via a network cable to the network socket in your room you will need:

To activate your network connection:

  1. Connect the network cable to the network card and the network socket on the wall.
  2. Set your network card to get an IP address automatically via DHCP. See below for detailed instructions for your operating system.
  3. Open your web browser, type in a URL address that you have not visited before, like www.bbc.co.uk and hit return.
  4. You will be redirected to the TCDN Registration form.
    1. Students and Fellows: Click the Click here to log-in using Raven link.
    2. Guests: Fill in your username and password under: Log-in for visitors and guests section
  5. Follow the on-screen instructions.

Wireless College Network Connection (Students, Staff, Fellows and Guests)

To connect to the network via a network cable to the network socket in your room you will need:

To activate your network connection:

  1. From your wifi settings, connect to TC-WLAN.
  2. When prompted, enter the password (WPA key). The WPA key must be entered exactly shown below:
    TheJollyGreenGiant2008
  3. Try to go to a website outside the University (e.g. www.bbc.co.uk   ). You will be redirected to the TCDN Registration page.
    If you are not automatically redirected, navigate in a web browser tohttps://register.trin.cam.ac.uk .
  4. Students and Fellows: Click the Click here to log-in using Raven link.
  5. Guests: Fill in your username and password under: Log-in for visitors and guests section
  6. Follow the on-screen instructions.

To Connect to eduroam

We provide access to eduroam in the same locations mentioned in the list of wireless locations (link above). Eduroam is also available across Cambridge University and in many other institutions throughout the world. Details on how to connect your device to eduroam can be found on the UIS website here: http://www.ucs.cam.ac.uk/wireless/eduroam/localusers. Note that you will need your Raven username and password to collect your eduroam token before you can connect.
