Senior Bursar Richard Turnill in London

May 23, 2023 at 18:00 to 20:00 BST

Alumni are warmly invited to join Richard Turnill, Senior Bursar of Trinity in conversation with Tom Dupernex (2000), discussing various topics relating to Trinity’s environmental, social and governance policies, investment strategy, Net Zero aspirations, and the College’s position within the Cambridge ecosystem. The talk shall also touch on Richard’s career prior to joining Trinity before there is time for questions and a drinks reception.

The event is kindly hosted by Edward Reed (1988) at Macfarlanes LLP, 20 Cursitor Street, London, EC4A 1LT, 6pm-8pm, Tuesday 23 May.

Mr Turnill joined Trinity on 1 September 2020. After studying Economics at Churchill, 1988-1991, Mr Turnill joined the Bank of England and went on to become the Global Chief Investment Strategist of BlackRock.

As well as managing the College’s investments and developing financial policy, the Senior Bursar plays an active role in Trinity’s governance, through weekly Council meetings and by contributing to decision-making that will impact the College community in the immediate and longer term.

Trinity’s Senior Bursar also participates in University committees, leads initiatives in support of education and research, and directs Trinity’s collaborations, including, for example, support of the Newton Trust, University lectureships, PhD studentships and the Colleges Fund that helps less well-endowed Colleges.

More information will appear shortly, please do contact alumni-events@trin.cam.ac.uk with any questions in the meantime.
