DESCRIPTION:[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=””] \nTrinity in New York: Dr Michael Banner “Trinity College and the Rise\, Fall and Rise of (Scientific) Racism“\nAlumni\, former Senior Members\, and friends are invited to join us for a reception and talk in New York on Wednesday 29 April\, 2026. \nDr Michael Banner\, Dean\, Fellow\, and Chair of Alumni Relations and Development\, will be in attendance for an Evening Drinks and Canapes Reception\, kindly hosted by an alumnus in the Hudson Yards area of the city\, bringing together Trinity alumni from across the tri-state area. \nAs part of the evening\, Dr Banner will deliver a talk on some of his latest research\, entitled “Trinity College and the Rise\, Fall\, and Rise of (Scientific) Racism”. The talk will tell the story of some Trinity figures – some well known\, some less so – influential in the creation\, intellectual dismantling\, and persistence of racist theories\, ideas and policies\, with philosopher\, biologists and (even) classicists in the cast list. \nDr Banner will also provide any updates on recent developments at Trinity\, and answer your questions. \nIf you would like to register to join this event\, please simply email alumni-events@trin.cam.ac.uk. \nYou are most welcome to bring a guest\, and please do let us know should you have any dietary requirements that we should be aware of. \n\nTrinity in New York\nTrinity in New York aim to provide opportunities for Trinity alumni in\, near\, or passing through\, New York to meet on a professional and/or social basis. Regular social activities are paired with interesting talks from visiting college Fellows\, and the committee are always looking for new event ideas and opportunities (including speakers and hosts).
