DESCRIPTION:[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=””]\nLife Line Musical – Talk\, Reception and Performance\n[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=””]Life Line is a musical that tells two stories in parallel – the discovery of penicillin by Alexander Fleming which changed the face of medical care\, and the challenge currently facing the world of antimicrobial resistance where the effectiveness of this life-saving medicine is under threat – using a cast of actors and medical professionals. \nOriginating at the Edinburgh Fringe before transferring to an ‘off-Broadway’ run\, the show now lands at the Southwark Playhouse (Elephant and Castle) in London for a limited run\, and we have a special rate for Trinity alumni to attend this special show on Tuesday 28 April. The Master\, Professor Dame Sally Davies\, is the UK Special Envoy on Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) and has been supportive of the show throughout its development\, and will join us at this event to talk more about the challenges of AMR. \nProgramme \n6.00pm – Drinks Reception and Remarks by the Master (near to but not at the Theatre – venue to be confirmed) \n7.00pm – Performance commences \n9.30pm – Close \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPricing – the discounted cost is £30 per ticket. DESCRIPTION:[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=””] \nTrinity in New York: Dr Michael Banner “Trinity College and the Rise\, Fall and Rise of (Scientific) Racism“\nAlumni\, former Senior Members\, and friends are invited to join us for a reception and talk in New York on Wednesday 29 April\, 2026. \nDr Michael Banner\, Dean\, Fellow\, and Chair of Alumni Relations and Development\, will be in attendance for an Evening Drinks and Canapes Reception\, kindly hosted by an alumnus in the Hudson Yards area of the city\, bringing together Trinity alumni from across the tri-state area. \nAs part of the evening\, Dr Banner will deliver a talk on some of his latest research\, entitled “Trinity College and the Rise\, Fall\, and Rise of (Scientific) Racism”. The talk will tell the story of some Trinity figures – some well known\, some less so – influential in the creation\, intellectual dismantling\, and persistence of racist theories\, ideas and policies\, with philosopher\, biologists and (even) classicists in the cast list. \nDr Banner will also provide any updates on recent developments at Trinity\, and answer your questions. \nIf you would like to register to join this event\, please simply email alumni-events@trin.cam.ac.uk. \nYou are most welcome to bring a guest\, and please do let us know should you have any dietary requirements that we should be aware of. \n\nTrinity in New York\nTrinity in New York aim to provide opportunities for Trinity alumni in\, near\, or passing through\, New York to meet on a professional and/or social basis. Regular social activities are paired with interesting talks from visiting college Fellows\, and the committee are always looking for new event ideas and opportunities (including speakers and hosts).
