Trinity Gardener Jonathan Strauss was not alone in being unexpectedly inspired by the Gormley sculpture. He submitted a poem to the competition for Trinity staff and students to write or photograph their response to FREE OBJECT, the first work of modern art on Trinity’s Backs.
Choir members at Trinity, Darwin and Christ’s Colleges have organised a concert in Trinity’s Chapel on Friday 23 February, 8pm, to raise money for Sing Inside, a Cambridge student initiative that brings music into prisons.
The 2018 Climate Change Lecture Series starts today with ideas and actions from Bangladesh to tackle the issue. This lecture, by Saleemul Huq, Director of the International Centre for Climate Change and Development, is the first of five free events in Cambridge which will be live streamed around the world.
Among those at the official unveiling of FREE OBJECT at Trinity today will be students and staff who wrote or photographed their responses to the commanding statue by the internationally renowned sculptor, Sir Antony Gormley, an alumnus of the College.
