Please refer to the information under Trinity Graduate Student Funding Awards before starting an application. It is important that you check eligibility criteria and application procedures carefully.
Please note that there is no separate application to be completed for the Trinity External Research Studentships, the Camilla Mash PhD Studentship in English and the Alice and James Penney PhD Studentship in English or European Literature . If admission is offered by Trinity College, applications for these studentships will be considered on the basis of the University Application Form. Application forms for Trinity Overseas Bursaries will be sent to applicants liable for overseas fees if an offer of membership at Trinity is made.
The online system for submission of Trinity College Graduate Studentship applications will open on 1 October 2019.
You must complete these five steps before your studentship application can be considered.
Step 1: Registration
You will be asked to enter your email address and to create a password.
Step 2: Enter your personal details, academic details & application details
You will be asked to enter your contact details, information about your previous qualifications and the course for which you are applying at the University of Cambridge. You will need to provide the 8-digit Application Number allocated to your University Application (beginning with 10) before being able to submit your Trinity Studentship application. Please note that you will only be sent this 8-digit number through the University’s application system 24 – 48 hours after you have submitted your University Application.
Step 3: References
You must provide the names and contact details, including email addresses, for two referees acquainted with your academic work and whom you have asked to send assessments of your academic standing. Referees will be required to upload references (in pdf format) to our secure online application system. Please make it clear to your referees what is needed and encourage them to submit their references as soon as possible.
Step 4: Supporting Documents
You will need to upload requested supporting documents including a copy of your University Application Form, official transcripts/statements and a research proposal if this is required. Please note that you will need to merge all supporting documents into a single pdf file in order to complete the upload successfully.
Step 5: Submit your application
You may continue to edit your application until the point of submission. Once you are happy that you have entered and uploaded all the relevant information, please submit your application. References can continue to be received after you have submitted your application until the deadline on 10 January 2020.
It is the responsibility of applicants to ensure that their application is complete by the deadline. Please allow for unexpected problems and submit your materials in good time. Late applications will not be accepted and applications will not be deemed complete until all parts of the application have been submitted, including references. Completed applications and all supporting documents must be submitted online by 12:00 noon (GMT) on Friday 10 January 2020. Receipt of applications will be acknowledged by email.
