Trinity Graduate Student Funding Awards: How to apply

Please refer to the information under Trinity Graduate Student Funding Awards before starting an application. It is important that you check eligibility criteria and application procedures carefully.

The online application system for Trinity College Studentships and Bursaries will open on 1 October 2017.

Please note that there are no separate application forms to be completed for the Trinity External Research Studentships, the Louis and Valerie Freedman Studentship in Medical Sciences, the Krishnan-Ang Studentships, the Rod Smallwood Studentship in Physics, the Sir John Bradfield Trinity College Bursaries For Research In Biological Studies and the TCA Bursaries in Economics and Finance. If admission is offered by Trinity College, applications for these studentships will be considered on the basis of the University Application Form. Application forms for the Overseas Bursaries are sent automatically to Overseas students when the College has taken the decision to offer admission.

You must complete these five steps before your studentship/bursary application can be considered.

Step 1: Registration

You will be asked to enter your email address and to create a password.

Step 2: Enter your personal details, academic details & application details

You will be asked to enter your contact details, information about your previous qualifications and the course for which you are applying in the University. You will need to provide your 8-digit Application Number (beginning with 10) before being able to submit your application.

Step 3: References

You must provide the names and contact details, including email addresses, for two referees acquainted with your academic work and whom you have asked to send assessments of your academic standing. Referees will be required to upload references (in pdf format) onto our secure online application system. Please make it clear to your referees what is needed and encourage them to submit their references as soon as possible.

Step 4: Supporting Documents

You will need to upload requested supporting documents including a copy of your University Application Form, official transcripts/statements and any research proposals which may be required for certain studentships/bursaries. Please note that you will need to merge all supporting documents into a single pdf file to complete the upload successfully.

Step 5: Submit your application

You may continue to edit your application until the point of submission. Once you are happy that you have entered and uploaded all the relevant information, please submit your application. References can continue to be received after you have submitted your application (up until the deadline of 19 January 2018).

It is the responsibility of applicants to ensure that their application is complete by the deadline. Please allow for unexpected computer or network problems and submit your material in good time. Late applications will not be accepted and applications will not be deemed complete until all parts of the application have been submitted. Receipt of applications will be acknowledged by e-mail. Completed applications and all supporting documents (including references) must be submitted online by 12:00 noon (GMT) on Friday 19 January 2018.
