Statement on undergraduate admissions 2020

We are grateful for all the interest alumni and current students have shown about the admissions process this year. All students who met their offers, either with the original grades awarded on 13 August or in the reissue of grades as announced on 17 August, will have the opportunity to come to Trinity to start in October 2020. No student has been asked to defer their entry.

This will be the largest cohort of students starting at Trinity in modern times – notwithstanding the challenges, the College has made arrangements regarding accommodation and College teaching that comply with COVID-19 prevention measures. We are pleased to say that this cohort includes the highest number of students from Index of Multiple Deprivation (IMD) backgrounds and from the lowest undergraduate participation areas (POLAR quintile 1) to be admitted in a year to Trinity.

We realise that many students have been through a difficult time recently, given the uncertainty over the grades, and following a disrupted academic year due to the lockdown. We hope that all students can now look forward to the start of the academic year with excitement. We are putting in place a series of webinars and, in some subjects, introductory supervisions, to help them prepare for the start of term.
We are excited to welcome them all.
