ASSISTANT HOUSEKEEPER (Part-time 30 hours per week)
The Assistant Housekeeper assists both the College Housekeeper and Deputy Housekeeper to ensure all rooms and offices are cleaned and serviced on a regular basis to a high standard. The post holder will be responsible for management and co-ordination of the domestic staff (30 bed makers, 1 linen keeper and 1 handyperson) in an area which comprises 400 student rooms plus rooms occupied by Fellows, study rooms, guest rooms and offices as well as communal rooms. Other duties include overseeing and ordering housekeeping supplies and stock, liaison with other college departments and external suppliers/service providers as well as associated administration.
The successful candidate must have experience of a supervisory role working with a large team to deliver a high quality housekeeping service. This experience will ideally have been gained in a College/residential or conference environment. The post holder must be able to work under pressure and with minimum supervision, be a good communicator, work successfully with a variety of people and be comfortable taking a pro-active approach to people and situations.
You should have a sound level of computer experience (Word and Excel), administrative skills and be familiar with Health and Safety legislation including risk and COSHH assessments. Employees are expected to ensure that their personal appearance is smart and their dress appropriate to their work in the College.
Salary £20,029 – £23,023 per annum pro rata, plus additional benefits.
