A new post has been created in the IT (Computing) Department at Trinity College, Cambridge for an AV and IT Support Officer. Technology plays a pivotal role in enabling the College to deliver its core research and administrative activities. To support this we are seeking to appoint a flexible problem solver to carry out day- to- day support of the College’s business systems, Audio Visual and desktop infrastructure.
The post holder will be responsible for delivering first line service desk support to fellows, staff and students as well as providing Audio Visual & Video Conferencing support and maintenance in meeting rooms, lecture theatres and with ad-hoc meeting room setups. This position demands the ability to work in liaison with people of all levels, with a strong ‘customer service’ focus. You must therefore have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and have worked successfully as part of a team.
Applicants must be proficient in supporting a number of areas, these include; desktop and wireless users (Windows and Mac) in a large user-based environment, AV equipment such as projectors and PA systems, able to support Microsoft Software and provide support to users over the phone and desk side. First line support queries may include resetting passwords, managing Wi-Fi connections and managing network printers.
Candidates must have a good standard of education to include A level or an equivalent IT related qualification.
Hours of work are 10.00 am to 6.00 pm Monday to Friday. The post holder may be required to undertake occasional evening and weekend work.
Salary £28,624 – £32,146 per annum on an incremental scale, plus additional benefits.
