Trinity College is the largest and one of the most renowned and prestigious of the Colleges of Cambridge University, with approximately 1,008 students and 190 Fellows, who are supported by over 350 staff.
The Catering Department of circa 75 staff provides the food and drink service for the senior and junior members and for staff. In doing so, the department can produce up to 1,500 meals each day, for 364 days in the year, using ingredients and applying cooking techniques from around the world. The quality, variety, presentation, service and cost of the food and drink provided are a key element in ensuring that the educational aims of the College are underpinned by the good service of the Catering Department.
We wish to appoint a Chef de Partie (Section Chef) who will assist the Executive Head Chef, Shift Head Chefs and Sous Chefs with the production of innovative high-quality dishes. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with similar experience in a Kitchen who wishes to develop their skills in this fast moving, professional environment.
Applicants must be creative, have a strong work ethic and be able to lead through example. Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a busy team are essential. A good working knowledge of health, safety and hygiene together with awareness of special diets and nutrition is important.
A salary of £23,300 per annum is offered with additional benefits which include, free lunch when working in College, cycle to work scheme, a subsidised gym and free private health and dental care subject to eligibility.
