Executive Head Chef

Trinity College is the largest of the Colleges of Cambridge University, with some 700 undergraduates, 350 post-graduates and 180 Fellows (the senior members of the College). Due to retirement, the College is now seeking applications for the post of Executive Head Chef (College Head Chef).

The post holder will demonstrate a genuine passion and desire to exceed expectation, delivering a mix of both traditional and modern dishes, making the most of seasons and local supply.  You will take full control and ownership of all food- related matters, working closely with the rest of the senior management team in the Catering Department.

This demanding site offers a wide range of services, from intimate fine dining to canapé receptions, plated fine dining up to 400 covers, buffets and student cafeteria.

You will be responsible for all menu planning, bespoke menus and tastings, food costing and staff training and development. You must be forward thinking, highly organised and able to deliver last-minute catering requests and changes.

The ideal Executive Chef must have a proven background, experience in fine-dining corporate catering, possess a friendly, polite and approachable disposition, with the ability to be discreet and maintain confidentiality.

Salary scale £40,525 – £45,575 per annum.  Additional benefits include a pension scheme, non-contributory health insurance and 33 days annual leave (inclusive of Bank Holidays).
