A rare opportunity has arisen for a talented Head of Human Resources to join one of the most prestigious Colleges in Cambridge. Trinity College has an outstanding academic record and extensive endowment and plays a key role in the University of Cambridge. The largest College in Cambridge, Trinity has 700 undergraduates, 350 postgraduates, 190 Fellows and 350 employees.
Reporting to the Junior Bursar, the key accountability of the Head of Human Resources is to ensure that a professional, effective and approachable HR service is provided to College staff in support of the academic aims of the College and it’s wider operational activities.
You will deliver a wide range of HR initiatives as well as day to day generalist operational support whilst managing and coaching your own HR team. The role covers employee relations, recruitment, career management, training and development, performance management and policy development.
You will also attend the College’s Staff Committee meeting, providing direct support to the Secretary (the Junior Bursar) for the preparation of agendas, management information reports and papers on HR priorities and issues for consideration and information, and the production of draft minutes. Acting as Secretary to the Staff Consultation Committee, producing all supporting documentation.
Applicants will ideally be educated to degree level or equivalent and hold a recognised HR qualification, with a strong technical knowledge of UK employment law. A passion for developing leadership capability, creating innovative initiatives around engagement and a natural coaching style are key to the success of the role.
