A vacancy has arisen in the IT (Computing) Department at Trinity College, Cambridge for an IT Infrastructure Officer. Technology plays a pivotal role in enabling the College to deliver its core research and administrative activities. To support this we are seeking to appoint a flexible problem solver to carry out day-to-day support of the College’s business systems.
The postholder will be involved in the upkeep and maintenance of the College servers, networks, network security and storage. This position demands the ability to work in liaison with people of all levels, with a strong ‘customer service’ focus. You must therefore have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and have worked successfully as part of a team.
Applicants must be proficient in supporting a number of areas, these include; supporting IT in a large user base environment, Microsoft Software including Windows Server 2008 and above, Active Directory, IT support Infrastructure including but not limited to VMware, switches, routers, firewalls, servers, SANs, NAS alongside being able to deal with support queries. Queries may include resetting passwords, managing Wi-Fi connections as well as network printers.
Candidates must have a good standard of education to include A level or an equivalent IT related qualification. CCNA (or an equivalent networking qualification), MSCA (or equivalent Microsoft qualification) would be highly desirable as would a VMware VCP qualification.
Salary £28,624 – £32,146 per annum on an incremental scale, plus additional benefits.
