IT Support Officer

A vacancy has arisen in the IT (Computing) Department at Trinity College, Cambridge for an IT Support Officer. Technology plays a pivotal role in enabling the College to deliver its core research and administrative activities.  To support this we are seeking to appoint a flexible problem solver who will carry out the support of the College’s IT systems.

The postholder will be involved in the upkeep and maintenance of the PC’s and Mac’s, networks, printers and business systems. The post holder will also assist and provide input to IT projects concerning desktop hardware and software support and will run the Student Drop In support service. This position demands the ability to work in liaison with people of all levels both within the College as well as with external suppliers.  You must therefore have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

The IT Support Officer will work closely with the Head of IT and Deputy IT Manager to implement priorities, strategies, initiatives and developments.

Candidates must have a good standard of education and ideally hold Professional Microsoft qualifications and have proven experience supporting IT in a large user-base environment. You should also be proficient in supporting Active Directory, Mac OSX and Apple Hardware.  Experience in dealing with support queries and users by phone, email and desk side is essential.

Salary £29,840 – £33,511 per annum on an incremental scale, plus additional benefits.
