An outstanding opportunity has arisen at Trinity College for the appointment of an experienced librarian to oversee the management of its Library at a senior level. The Sub-Librarian is the head of Library staff and has responsibility for managing a team of up to 20 employees. Reporting to the Librarian (a Fellow of the College), the Sub-Librarian oversees the day-to-day management of the College Library, the Wren Library and the College’s collections of archives and manuscripts, implementing new approaches where required. The position combines management expertise with a substantial amount of public engagement, hosting special interest groups and providing talks on specific items of interest when required.
Applicants must be professionally qualified, have experience of working in a senior position in an academic library and have the ability to interact with a varied and diverse community.
It is hoped that the appointed candidate will be able to take up the position in July or August 2020.
