Applications are invited for appointment to a Temporary College Lectureship in History for two years from 1st October 2019. The successful applicant will assist in supervising and directing studies in History in the College, and will participate in the admission of undergraduate students, which includes outreach work.
Applicants should have experience in teaching History in the Historical Tripos or equivalent, as well as a record of research and publication commensurate with their stage of career. The successful applicant will be able to supervise to a high standard Paper 24 of Part I of the Historical Tripos (American History after 1865), and at least one further paper out of either Paper 22 (American History before 1865), Paper 18 (European History since 1890), Papers 6 or 11 (British History since 1890), or Part II, Paper 5 (Political Thought and Political Philosophy since 1890).
The Temporary College Lectureship is a full-time position, and will require 12 hours per week of College teaching for 20 weeks per year. The stipend will be £41,248 per annum, together with other benefits of College membership.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to submit for consideration a published article or chapter arising from their historical research; such candidates will be notified by Wednesday 7 August 2019 and should have their work ready for submission by Friday 9 August 2019. It is expected that interviews of shortlisted applicants will be held on Wednesday 14 August 2019.
