REVIEW: Annual Gathering 1990, 1991, 1992

Almost 250 alumni who came up to Trinity in 1990, 1991 & 1992 returned to College on Saturday 16 July for their latest reunion.

The weather. It was lovely to see groups of alumni walking through College, as friends bumped into one another. Despite the years apart, recognition was (almost) instantaneous for most!

Once checked in, everyone gathered under the Wren for tea and cake ahead of the College update. The pane allowed alumni to ask their questions on recent College activities and future plans.

Evensong followed for those who wished to attend it where a Choir of alumni from 1990, 1991 & 1992 (plus a few extras) performed expertly. Thanks to Nicholas Yates (1991) for coordinating .

Pre-dinner drinks and the group photo took place in Nevile’s Court. At the sound of the gong, alumni and Fellows filed into the Allhusen Room and Hall for their dinner.

We are grateful to 1991 alumnus, Dr Thant Myint-U, for giving the Toast to the College after dinner. Thant reflected on the numerous world developments since his time at Trinity, and shared memories of his time at College. Thant was followed by Professor Adrian Poole who thanked everyone for coming and, of course, the College’s wonderful catering team for the outstanding hospitality. The evening was rounded off with post-dinner drinks under the Wren, which was beautifully illuminated in technicolour.
