Join us for an insightful online research talk from Trinity’s Dr Geoffrey Kirsch, will discuss his latest research: American Literature and the Law of Commerce.
Dr Kirsch is currently a Junior Research Fellow at Trinity College and has recently received his PhD in English from Harvard University. Geoffrey’s research interests lie at the intersection of nineteenth-century American literature and legal, economic, and political history.
His latest project, Opening New Channels: Nineteenth-Century American Literature and the Law of Commerce, examines the intertwined growth of American literature and the American market. Literary historians ascribe the birth of a distinctly national literature to the middle decades of the nineteenth century.
