Library spaces
The Library comprises several rooms and different spaces.
Catalogue Room
Entering the College Library, the first room on your right is the Catalogue Room. This is where our collection of general fiction, non-fiction and wellbeing books are housed, as well as our CD and DVD collections. You can also find a range of borrowable board games, past exam papers, borrowable DVD drives, and a display of recent periodicals spanning a range of subjects, both academic and non-academic.
Here, you will also find two self-service kiosks for issuing and returning books from the library, and trolleys for depositing returned books. Printing, copying and scanning services can also be accessed here, as well as a networked computer for browsing our online catalogue.
Lower Library
Reading Room and Computer Room
Most of the Library’s study space can be found in the Reading Room, accessible via stairs in the foyer or from the Lower Library. Available study spaces consist mostly of desks, with four standing desks and a soft seating area. The Reading Room shelves house books from a range of subjects including, but certainly not limited to, Engineering, Medicine, History, Classics and Philosophy. The Reading Room is also home to a range of non-book items and assistive devices like charging cables, blankets, book-rests and laptop stands for use in the library.
The first floor of the library is also host to a small Computer Room, with two networked PCs and two freestanding monitors for students to connect to laptops. See Library services.

Basement
The Basement is primarily home to any periodicals not displayed in the Catalogue Room, as well as some books and series from the Lower Library and the Reading Room. The Basement is open to students between 9am and 5pm on weekdays; outside of those times, ask for the Basement key at the Enquiry Desk. It can be accessed via a staircase located between the Catalogue Room and the Lower Library. Some books in the Basement can be on high shelves; please ask a member of staff for assistance accessing these.
Law Library
The Law Library is a physically separate space located in F Bishop’s Hostel, where our collection of reference-only Law textbooks and periodicals are kept, as well as some study spaces. It is an unstaffed, 24-hour, student-maintained area where Law students can study and consult Law books.
Wren Library
The Wren Library is open for students to use and visit all year, and as a study space during Easter Term. For details, see the dedicated page here.
