Applications are invited for appointment to a 6-hour College Lectureship in Biological Sciences (UTO), together with a Fellowship, tenable for five years from 1 September 2026 in the first instance, with the possibility of reappointment to the retiring age. The successful applicant will be expected to teach and direct studies in Biomedical Sciences in the Natural Sciences Tripos, and assist with direction of studies and admissions in the Natural Sciences. They will take the lead in developing Biological Sciences in the College. Candidates should be research-active scientists who hold a full-time faculty position within the University or affiliated institutions.

The Lectureships will require 6 hours of teaching per week during the 20 weeks of the undergraduate year. The starting salary, payable in addition to the university salary, will normally be on Step 7 of the College scale for 6-hour lecturers (£13,260 per annum).

  • an article or chapter indicative of their scholarly qualities;
