College Crest

65 alumni and their guests came to College on Saturday, 14 September to celebrate 50 years since their matriculation.

It was lovely to see so many friends and groups of alumni reuniting, walking through College, and reliving happy memories of their time at Trinity. Despite the years apart, recognition was (almost) instantaneous for most!

To begin the day, everyone gathered in the Master’s Lodge  for tea and cake, as well as an update on the College. The atmosphere was lovely and conversations were filled with long overdue catch-ups, exciting life stories and heartfelt reminiscing.

Evensong followed shortly after for those who wished to attend with former members of Trinity College Choir providing the musical accompaniment to the service.

Pre-dinner drinks in Nevile’s Court, served out of the Punt Bar, saw alumni gathering once again before dinner. A group photo (see above) was taken in Nevile’s Court, after which the sound of gong summoned everyone to dinner in Hall.

The dinner was opened by the choir, who performed a lovely grace. Thank you to all involved.

We are grateful Lionel de Rothschild, for giving the Toast to the College. Lionel gave a heartfelt speech about his experience at Trinity, as well as memories of former Fellows and a thought for those who were not able to join us.

The evening was rounded off with post-dinner drinks in the OCR, as chilly weather did not lend the Wren well to outdoor drinks. For departing guests, the Fountain and Queens’ Gate were illuminated to top off the evening.

We would like to thank everyone for coming to this gathering. We are delighted to have welcomed so many of you back at College to celebrate a memorable evening together.
