Trinity students will enjoy a ‘Green’ Formal Hall on Saturday 19 November with a menu featuring seasonal and regional dishes, from roast pumpkin and beetroot risotto, to apple tart and blackberry ice cream.

The event is organised by Trinity College Students’ Union Environmental Officer Laura Hildt in collaboration with Cambridge Hub, an umbrella organisation for green and ethical societies, some of whom will attend on Saturday.

Laura said: ‘As well as enjoying a special meal with regional ingredients, we hope this Green Formal will lead to interesting conversations about environmental change, collective responsibility and how we can make a difference.’

Head of Catering at Trinity, Ian Reinhardt, devised the autumn menu with the College’s team of chefs. ‘We are always keen to work with our student community so when Laura approached us with the idea of a green formal we were pleased to help. We worked closely with our suppliers to showcase the finest ingredients from Cambridgeshire, Norfolk and Gloucestershire,’ he said.

The Green Formal is open to all Trinity students – please book by 8pm on 16 November.
