Please be prepared that teaching may have to move online at short notice because of instruction from the University, government or PHE.
Fellows are encouraged to supervise in their rooms if they feel comfortable doing so. Fellows may find it useful to consult the advice in the generic template for teaching space. If you need further help, please contact the Health and Safety Officer, healthandsafety@trin.cam.ac.uk. Please do ask your students (especially the quieter ones) whether they are comfortable with your arrangements.
B. Fellows who are unable to use their College rooms for supervisions, and other supervisors (Trinity and non-Trinity members) who supervise Trinity students, can book rooms listed here:
https://booker.optime.cloud
We anticipate pressure on these teaching areas, so please plan ahead if you can. If you need any assistance with supervision rooms, please contact
supervisions@trin.cam.ac.uk
Supervisors are asked to ensure that their supervision area is left clean and sanitised at the end of each session.
Supervisors are asked to ensure that students do not congregate in corridors or doorways.
Cleaning products will be available. All areas will be cleaned by cleaning staff once per day (morning or evening).
Masks do not need to be worn in the Cloisters or the Brewhouse Marquee during supervisions unless the marquee sides are down.
Please use hand sanitiser on entry and on leaving the supervision.
Whiteboards, marker pens and cloths will be provided. Supervisors may wish to bring their own non- permanent marker pens with them. If using pens provided by the College, these must be wiped after use (sanitiser wipes will be provided) and must not be removed.
C. Supervising non-Trinity members
Fellows supervising non-Trinity students (whether in their rooms or elsewhere in College) are asked to register the student details for the Term on their account in the supervisions system. Please note that students not registered in this way may not be granted access to the College.
D. Online supervisions
The College recognises that some supervisors may want to supervise online for reasons of their health or the health of a family member, or may have to provide online supervisions (or part in person / part online) if students are unable to attend in person. The College recommends that vulnerable supervisors supervise online.
E. In the event of illness
It is common sense that those feeling unwell should not attend classes or supervisions in person. Students are urged to contact their supervisors promptly to explain they are unwell, and we trust that supervisors will be sympathetic and flexible in reorganizing supervisions or moving them online. If the supervisor is unwell, supervisions may be delayed or, if the illness is prolonged, another supervisor may give them on condition that all protocol procedures are followed. Please contact
senior.tutor@trin.cam.ac.uk if you have any concerns.
