A vacancy has arisen in the IT (Computing) Department at Trinity College, Cambridge for a Senior IT Infrastructure Officer. Technology plays a pivotal role in enabling the College to deliver its core research and administrative activities. To support this we are seeking to appoint a pro-active problem solver who will undertake a major role in maintaining the College’s IT systems and deliver an efficient and proactive service to Fellows, staff and students.
As well as providing input and support to the College’s IT strategy the successful candidate will undertake a lead role in IT infrastructure projects concerning servers, storage, networks and security. This position demands the ability to work in liaison with people of all levels, with a strong ‘customer service’ focus. You must therefore have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and have worked successfully as part of a team.
Applicants must be proficient in supporting a number of areas, these include; IT infrastructure in a large user base environment, Microsoft Software including Windows Server 2008 and above, Active Directory, IT support Infrastructure including but not limited to VMware, switches, routers, firewalls, servers, SANs, NAS alongside having a proven track record in supporting users.
Candidates must have a good standard of education to include A level or an equivalent IT related qualification. CCNA (or an equivalent networking qualification), MSCA (or equivalent Microsoft qualification) would be highly desirable as would a VMware VCP qualification.
Salary £36,217 to £40,729 per annum on an incremental scale, plus additional benefits.
