Get involved in Chapel

The Chaplains welcome students of all faiths and none to be involved in Chapel services and social activities. There are a variety of ways to get involved:

Chapel Wardens prepare the Chapel for worship, lighting candles and welcoming the congregation. They work together with the Chaplains, ensuring our busiest services run smoothly and safely. Wardens receive Chapel-branded stash to keep as a thank you!

There are opportunities for College members and members of the congregation to read from the Bible at weekly services. Contact Anne or Sophie if you’d like a chance to practice in Chapel before reading at a service.

Servers assist the priests with the liturgy at Eucharistic services. They carry candles, the processional cross or the Gospel book, and sometimes swing incense using the thurible! Regular servers are needed each week at Sunday Eucharist and on major feasts. The photo on the right-hand side shows a group of servers about to head off for a procession around the town centre on Ascension Day in 2025.

Members of College are encouraged to approach the Chaplains if they would like to offer a reflection at a Wednesday Compline.

Those interested in any of these opportunities should contact the Chaplains for more information.
