In the Arctic Tundra, I slept on tussock grass atop a permafrost bed and drank out of glaciers. Cottonweed, the food of the caribou drifted in the air. Golden eagles circled above. One morning I woke up to this one-year old female baby caribou only a few feet away. Drinking from this cup reminds me of the intense beauty in undisturbed relations; a deep gratitude at sharing their space; and how wild spaces can free us from ourselves.
