Postgraduate Studies

Postgraduates wishing to study in Cambridge apply both to a Faculty or Department and to a College. Postgraduate teaching and supervisions are arranged by the relevant Faculty and not by the College. This means that there need be no necessary connection between the subjects taught by the Fellows of the College and those studied by postgraduates at the College.

Trinity provides a wealth of support to ensure that all its postgraduate students can make the most of their time in Cambridge and enjoy College life to the full.

How to apply

Application for admission as a postgraduate student is carried out by applying to the University and Colleges via the University’s Postgraduate Admissions Office and choosing up to two Colleges.

Funding and Finance

Financial matters are a vital aspect of postgraduate study and applicants are advised to begin researching and applying for all sources of eligible funding as early as possible in the application process. Postgraduate students will not be admitted to the University without secured funding in place.

Funding Awards

Trinity College offers a range of competitive postgraduate funds (often referred to as studentships or bursaries) to students wishing to study at the University of Cambridge.

Life at Trinity

Postgraduate education at Cambridge is arranged by the student’s Faculty and not (as with undergraduates) by the College. Nonetheless, there are plenty of opportunities for intellectual stimulation available within the College.
