Patrick is a clinician scientist who trained in Oxford and London in Nephrology and General Internal Medicine. His main research contributions have been concerned with how cells sense oxygen. He is now responsible for leading the University’s School of Clinical Medicine, which has around 3000 staff and 2000 students. In addition to its roles in education and training the School has extensive research programs.
