235 alumni who came up to Trinity between 1999 and 2001 returned to College on Saturday 3 September for their latest reunion. It was lovely to see small groups of alumni forming all over College as friends bumped into one another. Despite the years apart, recognition was instantaneous for most!

Once checked in, everyone gathered in Nevile’s Court for tea and cake ahead of the College update. The panel, consisting of Fellows Dr Michael Banner (Chair of Alumni Relations & Development), Professor Louise Merrett (Vice-Master)and Professor Emma Widdis took questions from alumni about recent College activities and future plans.

Evensong followed for those who wished to attend it where a choir of alumni from 1999 – 2001 performed expertly. Thanks to Ben Woodward (1999) for coordinating the music and choir.

Pre-dinner drinks took place in Nevile’s Court, where the group photograph was also taken. A high-resolution version is available to be downloaded here.

At the sounding of the gong, everyone filed into Hall for dinner, with some of our Fellows and former Fellows.

We are grateful to 2001 alumnus, Davey Jose, for giving the Toast to the College after dinner. Through Augmented Reality glasses, Davey shared wonderful memories of College life, including Great Court Run, summers on the Backs and stories of Professor Hawking. He also took a moment to remember College members unable to attend the reunion. Davey was followed by the Vice-Master, Professor Louise Merrett who thanked everyone for coming and, of course, the College’s fantastic catering team for the outstanding hospitality.

The evening was rounded off with a post-dinner drink or two under the Wren, which was beautifully illuminated in autumnal colours.

Thank you to everyone who joined us – we look forward to seeing you again at the next one!

If anyone who attended has any comments or follow-up questions, we are always happy to receive them (alumni-events@trin.cam.ac.uk).

Thank you to Alkesh Patel (2000), Stephanie Richards (1999), John Hind (2000), Sarah Goodwin (2001) and Helen Speedy (1999) for taking part in our video.

All photographs from the event are available to view and download here.
