TBCA Dinner

June 4 at 18:45 to 23:00 BST

The Trinity Business and City Association (TBCA) Dinner is back by popular demand!

Following a very successful return to the schedule in 2025, we are delighted to be back once again, providing an opportunity for alumni from across the world of business, finance, consultancy, policy, media, law, and many other sectors to come together for an evening of good food, good wine, and great networking and socialising.

Where and when?

The Bleeding Heart Crypt of St Ethelreda – a stunningly beautiful, ethereal space in the heart of London (near Farringdon) that played host to (one of) the weddings of our College’s founder, King Henry VIII – will now play host to the TBCA on Thursday June 4, 2026.

An arrival drink will be followed by a fabulous three-course dinner and wine*, with coffee to conclude.

Speaker

We are delighted to be welcoming Madelaine McTernan CB as our special guest speaker this year.

Maddy, currently serving as Chief of Defence Nuclear at the Ministry of Defence (MoD), will provide insights and learnings from her career across the financial sector and government, and on the interrelationships between the two.

Maddy is a compelling and authoritative speaker and we look forward to hearing from her.

Full Biography

Maddy is Chief of Defence Nuclear at the Ministry of Defence (MoD) where she is responsible for cohering the Defence Nuclear Enterprise and a member of the Quad leadership team. The Defence Nuclear Enterprise is responsible for the programmes that deliver our nuclear deterrence: our submarine, warhead and nuclear fuels programmes. This involves close working with our allies in Europe and the US.

Prior to joining the MoD, Maddy served as Director General of the Vaccine Taskforce, with her contribution to the Covid response recognised through appointment as Companion of the Order of the Bath (2022) and Director General for the Energy Supply Taskforce. She has also held senior roles at UK Government Investments. Much of Maddy’s financial grounding came from her time as a Managing Director and Head of UK Mergers and Acquisitions at Credit Suisse, and as a qualified lawyer at Freshfields. She was also an Honorary Senior Visiting Fellow in the Faculty of Finance at Cass Business School and was awarded an honorary doctorate from Nottingham Trent University.

Maddy studied Law at Trinity, a time from which she has many fond memories and great friends, and she looks forward to joining the TBCA members for this special event.
