You will lead and develop multi skilled maintenance teams, ensuring that reactive, planned and project led works are delivered safely, efficiently and to a consistently high standard. Key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading and developing senior trade specialists and their teams to support high-quality service delivery.
  • Managing a core maintenance budget of approximately £2.8 million, including forecasting, monitoring and reporting.
  • Leading and delivering Planned Preventative Maintenance programmes and supporting compliance with statutory requirements and SFG20-aligned guidance.
  • Overseeing maintenance projects and minor capital works from planning through to completion.
  • Supporting the ongoing development of CAFM systems and asset data to strengthen maintenance planning, reporting and compliance.
  • Working with senior colleagues to support the development of the College Estates Management Strategy, including sustainability and heritage estate stewardship priorities.
  • Promoting a safe and healthy working environment for staff, contractors, consultants and the wider College community, in line with statutory regulations.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for an experienced estates, facilities or building management professional with proven leadership experience in a complex, multi building environment. You will bring strong technical understanding, excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, and the ability to lead teams, manage budgets and deliver works safely and effectively.

The successful candidate will have experience of planned preventative maintenance, project delivery, compliance, health and safety, and the operational leadership of multi skilled teams. Strong planning, organisational and influencing skills will be essential, together with confidence in working collaboratively with colleagues, contractors, consultants and a wide range of College stakeholders.
