We were delighted to be joined by alumni and guests across our two most recent events – ‘Trinity on the Backs’.

These ‘picnic-style’ events provided alumni with the perfect opportunity to return to Cambridge and enjoy Trinity with their friends and family. The gates were open to Nevile’s Court, offering a picture-perfect environment for that long overdue catch-up!

Members enjoyed a relaxed afternoon of garden games and light entertainment in College, along with a generous offering of ice cream served throughout the afternoon.

The College Catering team were thrilled to be staffing the Punt Bar once again, a popular addition to our Summer events at Trinity.

58 years and counting…

We couldn’t have been happier to welcome back Mike Gregory (1959) and his wife Nancy. The happy couple, joined by their daughter and grandchildren, were delighted to be celebrating their 58th wedding anniversary since tying the knot at Trinity College in 1963.

“Thank you so much for hosting us today – we all had a wonderful time with everything the College laid on for this event – the refreshments to accompany our picnic; the Wren Library; the sacks for the youngsters to race in; the band that played a special number for Eddie, who is developing his skills on the cornet; punting on the Cam; and above all our exclusive visit to the Chapel with the presentation of flowers from the College gardens which made our 58^th wedding anniversary such a special and most memorable treat.”

No return to Trinity would be complete without a peek inside the fabulous Wren Library. Steven Archer, Sub-Librarian, offered tours of the items on display and was delighted to see so many alumni returning to say hello.

Despite the damp start to Sunday afternoon, our Catering team were quick in offering a generous amount of strawberries and ice cream for all!

With the weather on our side, for both events, the jazz trio kept playing throughout the afternoon. It was a genuine pleasure to be able to welcome so many alumni and their families to Trinity, and we look forward to seeing you all again soon.
