Part of my everyday life occurs within a community, so I am not alone – even if I try; and I share space, customs, symbols and codes, although in different ways, with its members. Staff, students, Fellows – we occupy the same spaces in very different ways. In this place, at this time, I am a cleaner or a waitress.

Every day my routine is the same. Except I can break this routine for a while, and stop being productive. When I look out of the window, in an act of daring, I take on a different role, that of an observer. I do this every day. It gives me a moment of escape, a moment of relief. So it has become my second and unofficial routine
