Owain Park
Music student; organ scholar
A quiet space. A blank canvas, always the same – that consistency allowing change to take place on manuscript; the paper, affected by light, sounds, silence, thought and pencil. Rubbings out away from the keys, short interruptions, life passing by.
Some explore the Chapel for the first time – I think they like the music. They listen a little while and move on; some ask what I’m doing, some offer prayers silently. I wrote this piece for the organ, inspired by the windows and instrument here. And when I’ve locked up, it’s back to being a quiet space.
